Mrs. Annarose DeRosa Strand, wife of Mr. George G. Strand, passed away at Morristown Health Care Center in Indianapolis. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and an active member of her community, remembered for her service, leadership, and deep involvement in civic and charitable life.
Mrs. Strand was the mother of Ruth McClanahan and Karen Lawler, and the grandmother of Pamela Elcik, Kathleen McClanahan, and David McClanahan. Her family remembers her as a steady presence whose commitments to family, faith, and community shaped generations.
She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and participated actively in a wide range of organizations, reflecting both leadership and fellowship. These included the Millersville Order of the Eastern Star, Koran Temple, Smyrna Shrine Guild, the Parliamentary Club, Western Electric Travel Study Club, and the Garden Club. She was also a member and past president of the II Jamalie Club and served as a past queen of the Daughters of the Nile.
Services for Mrs. Strand were held at Flanner & Buchanan Shadeland Mortuary in Indianapolis. Friends were received prior to the service.
Memorial contributions were directed to Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, Northminster Presbyterian Church, or Morristown Health Care Center, in keeping with Mrs. Strand’s lifelong support of charitable and faith-based organizations.
Her life reflects a legacy of service, family devotion, and quiet leadership—one remembered not only through records, but through the lives she touched.
