Elwood Prosser, age 90, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at home.
Born in Topsham, Maine, he moved to the Spring Hill area 26 years ago from Maine. He was employed as a master electrician with Hearst newspapers and also worked at Bath, Maine Ironworks, where he helped build destroyers during World War II.
Mr. Prosser was a lifetime violinist and one of the founders of the Spring Hill Symphony Orchestra. He was Baptist by faith and served as a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Spring Hill. He was also a lifetime Mason and a member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth; a son, Carol Prosser of China, Maine; two daughters, Elizabeth Berube of Hudson and Margaret Elcik of Seal Beach, California; a sister, Joanne Stevens of Pejepscot, Maine; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Mariner Boulevard, Spring Hill.
