Looking for information regarding the parents of Ernest Tyson McClanahan (1889–1978). Ernest was born 04 FEB 1889 in Shelby, Shelby, Alabama, USA, and died 18 DEC 1978 in Tomahawk, Lincoln, Wisconsin, USA. He was married to Genevieve Brekke (1895-1973). They had three children: Ernest Eugene McClanahan (1921–1921), Roland Malcolm McClanahan (1925–2005), Russell Emmett McClanahan (1929–1981).

We suspect Mary Pelcarsky (1875-1936) and Anna Pelcarsky Karkos (1877-1940) are sisters. First, Mary Pelcarsky (1875-1936) was married to John Elsik (1866-1941). Second, Annie M. Elcik (1905) married George F. Karkos in 1925. If they are sisters, this is the second relationship between Elcik and Karkos families. Looking for additional details.

We have evidence that John Elsik (1866-1941) and Joseph Elsik (1871-1938) were brothers. Both immigrated from Austria. John immigrated in 1891 at the age of 23 and Joseph in 1901 at the age of 30. Both settled in Durham, Androscoggin, Maine. Both men used the same given names for their three daughters, a custom popular at the time. Baptismal records identify another brother (George) and a sister (Anna) for whom we seek additional information.

We are seeking information on ancestors in Parchovany, Slovakia, that can provide more information. The surnames according to baptismal records would be “Ilycsik or Ilcsik.”
