John Paul Elcik III 1928–2011

John Paul Elcik III, age 82, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away on May 1, 2011, at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

John was born on June 30, 1928, in Lisbon Falls, Maine, to the late John Paul Elcik and Mary Gertrude Elcik.

He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for thirty years, retiring in 1977 as a Chief Petty Officer and Communications Technician. Following his military career, John was also employed as a manager with TAB Products, from which he later retired.

John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, and working with electronics. He was known as a skilled handyman and took particular pride in his ability to fix and build things. He also followed Navy sports teams closely, with a special fondness for Navy football.

John is survived by his wife, Wanda R. Elcik; his children, John Elcik IV and his wife Pam, James Elcik and his wife Terri, Jeff Elcik and his wife Suzy, Michael McCauley, Pat Brush and her husband John, and Diana Gardner and her husband Tom; and his brother, Richard Elcik of Maine.

He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
