Andrew Byrus Sr., age 70, passed away on Sunday morning, April 22, 1945, at his home on the Lisbon Road in Lisbon, Maine. Funeral services were held the following Tuesday morning.
Andrew was born in Czechoslovakia and later immigrated to the United States, where he built a life rooted in steady work and family. For many years he worked as a farmer and was also employed at the mill, contributing to both the agricultural and industrial life of the community.
He was a member of St. Cyril and Methodius Church, where his faith and cultural heritage remained an important part of his life.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Anna Byrus; a half-brother, Michael Byrus of Lisbon Falls; three sons, George Byrus of Bath, Andrew Byrus Jr., and Joseph Byrus of Lisbon Falls; and one daughter, Mrs. John Elcik Jr. of Lisbon Falls. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at St. Methodist Church in Lisbon, with the Rev. J. P. Bichrest officiating. Burial followed at St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery in Upper Main.
