Discussion of Family Photos

Wed 8/5/2020 9:09 p.m.

John, IV,

Yes, I got four emails. I responded and gave permission for you to see them. I don’t know why this happens every time I send you photos. I go to my images, click on the ones I want to send, attach them, and away we go. I don’t understand why you have to send a request to view them.

I’m responding late to this because we lost power at 7:30 last night from Isaias and didn’t get it back until mid-morning today. I had a Dr’s appointment late morning and didn’t get home until 2 p.m. I’m finally sitting down and looking at email, etc.

I sent Nancy the two pictures you sent me of you and your dad and a man and a woman you thought was your grandfather, Zeda. She and Jack concur that it is NOT Zeda. Zeda is the man in the other picture sitting next to the car with a squirrel on his shoulder. They have no idea who the two people are with you and your dad.

If you have more pictures to share with us, Nancy’s email is lanaka@comcast.net. She also has some documents and notations her mom made in her Bible. She will send copies of them to you but needs your mailing address. She remembers lots more than Jack about timing, etc. of events. As I’ve mentioned before, Jack was away at school and then at sea when some of these things happened and has no memory of them. They both DO remember your grandfather’s 2nd wife, Helen Mosko. I think she can shed some light on a few things.

As for the gravestone pictures of Andrew Elcik and Barbara Morse: His father was Andrew Elcik 1901-1951. His brother is Eugene Elcik 1933 and still living. Eugene is the man I talked to last week.

I have one more resource, Cheryl Elcik Heath, Uncle Richard’s daughter. I have yet to call her but will do soon—lots of “other” things this week.

We need to keep this going,
Beth

The Glass Is Always Half Full

Fri 8/7/2020 11:26 PM

Technology is the part that brings out the craziness in me. I started with the Purinton Tree, added the Goddard Tree, added the Day Tree, combined all three (that’s 4), and started a Purinton Tree, including Cox (5), and for the life of me, I can’t think of #6.

That’s not bad enough, but somehow I got mixed up with someone by the name of John P Elcik IV, and now, well, ” you know the rest of the story!”

I’m glad you brought that up. I knew there were duplicates but had no idea who and how many. Thank you. I saved and printed the file. Now I’m wondering if I can sync the trees and have one Purinton Tree, including everyone. Please tell me there is. Could I then delete the Goddard, Day, and Purinton Tree, including Cox trees??

I’m such a Probie. If you ever run into that John P. Elcik I was talking about; he’s a genius, just sayin!!

A Family Mystery?

Fri 8/7/2020 9:24 PM

John,

I did ask you once in our correspondence if I was making you crazy. I now believe our roles reversed, and you may be driving me a bit crazy. LOL…If you remember correctly, I spent two years working on my family ancestry, and I KNOW for a fact, it drove me crazy. It can quickly happen. I eventually reached out to a friend at the Historical Society I belong to, and he was a tremendous help, thank goodness. The problem is I’m finding it difficult to sort this all out. I did, however, find Elciks in New York, but I am not sure of the connection YET. I may reach out to my Historical Society friend. To be continued.
