Elcik–Gamache Wedding

Lewiston, Oct. 21 — Miss Anna Gamache, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Gamache of Lisbon, and George M. Elcik of Durham were married at the Holy Family Church Saturday morning at 9 o’clock.

Rev. C. J. Brown officiated and sang the nuptial high mass service. Music was furnished by the church choir with Miss Loretto Hadden, organist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Edmund Gamache. Miss Mary Elcik was maid of honor. Miss Edna Gamache and Miss Anna Petrov were bridesmaids.

The bride wore Circean ivory satin with a veil of tulle trimmed with seed pearls and orange blossoms, the cap being of coronet style. She carried lilies.

The maid of honor wore peach satin and carried Talisman roses. Miss Petrov wore green crepe and Miss Gamache yellow crepe. They carried Talisman roses.

The best man was Leo Gamache, a brother of the bride. Ushers were Paul Elcik and John Kuselnik Jr. Gifts to the maid of honor and bridesmaids were bracelets. The male attendants received cravat sets. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was gold linked prayer beads.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Gamache. She attended local schools, being graduated from Lisbon High School in 1930. She attended the Maine School of Commerce in Auburn and has since been employed as a stenographer at the Auburn Motor Sales Inc.

Mr. Elcik, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Elcik of Durham, attended local schools and is employed at the Wormwood Manufacturing Co.

Immediately after the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents, with 45 guests present. In the evening, a reception was held at Lower Slovak Hall with 400 guests, relatives and friends present. Dinner was served preceding the reception and dancing followed.

Among those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Elcik of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Andrew Elcik of Sunnyside, Long Island, N.Y.
