Ernest T. McClanahan, age 89, a former resident of Rosholt, Wisconsin, died on Monday, December 18, 1978, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tomah, Wisconsin.
Ernest was born on February 4, 1889, in Galveston, Texas, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tyson McClanahan. He later lived for many years in Rosholt, Portage County, Wisconsin, and in later life resided in Franksville, near Racine.
A veteran of World War I, Ernest was a member of Nelson-Kaminski Post 509 of the American Legion in Rosholt.
On June 10, 1921, he married Genevieve Brekke. She preceded him in death on March 10, 1973.
Surviving Family
Ernest is survived by two sons, Russell McClanahan of Franksville, Wisconsin, and Roland McClanahan of Shelbyville, Indiana, as well as five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services & Burial
Funeral services were held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt, with the Rev. Howard Stendahl officiating. Burial followed at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in Rosholt.
Friends were received at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola.
