John P. Elcik, Jr. — 1896–1963

John P. Elcik, Jr., age 67, of Lisbon Falls, died late Sunday night, March 31, 1963, at a Lewiston hospital following a few weeks’ illness.

He was born in Durham, Maine, on February 16, 1896, a son of John Elcik and Mary (Balas) Elcik.

Mr. Elcik retired two years prior to his death after 40 years of employment at the Paper Company. He was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his widow, Helen Mosko Elcik; three daughters, Mrs. John Lucas of York Harbor, Mrs. Mary Plourde of Lisbon Falls, and Mrs. Normand Gamache of Lisbon Falls; two sons, Richard Elcik of Augusta and John Elcik, serving with the United States Navy.

He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Michael Dutko of Lakeland, Florida; Mrs. Elizabeth Small of Florida; Mrs. George Karkos of Lisbon Falls; and Mrs. Leo Elcik of Lisbon; one brother, Michael Elcik of Lisbon Falls; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning from his late residence at 9 Priest Street, Lisbon Falls, followed by a solemn High Mass at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church. Interment was in Saints Cyril and Methodius Cemetery.
