St. Anthony’s Church, Rocky Point, was the setting for the September 30 wedding of Karen Elcik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Elcik of Rocky Point, to Steven Patrick McDonald of Reading, Pennsylvania, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerard McDonald of Poughkeepsie. The Rev. Gregory Cappuccino officiated.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Cindy Troeger of Rocky Point. Bridesmaids were Denise Nikolopoulos of Astoria; Laura Manzi and Pauline Lavelle, both of Rocky Point; and Debbie McDonald of Poughkeepsie.
The bride’s cousin, Lisa Nikolopoulos, was flower girl. Cone Beckham of Poughkeepsie served as best man. Ushers were Gregory Wolf of Burlington, Vermont; Raymond McDermott of Boulder, Colorado; Brad Denney of Galveston, Texas; and the bride’s brother, John Elcik Jr. of Rocky Point.
A reception was held at the Port Jefferson Country Club. The couple departed on a wedding trip to the West Indies. They reside in Reading.
The bride is a 1985 graduate of Rocky Point High School and a 1989 graduate of SUNY Oneonta. She is head cook at Nature’s Garden Natural Foods, Reading.
The groom is a 1984 graduate of Arlington High School and a 1988 graduate of SUNY College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering. He is technical services manager for Georgia Pacific Corp., Reading.
