Mr. and Mrs. Clyde R. Skillin, 119 Brunswick Avenue, Springfield, Massachusetts, are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Jacqueline, to John Paul Elcik, III, son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Elcik of Main Street, Lisbon Falls.
The ceremony was performed by Judge Leslie Muer of 24 Portland Road, Old Orchard Beach, on Saturday, July 29.
Mrs. Elcik, who had been making her home with her paternal grandparents, Albert Skillin and the late Mrs. Skillin, in Augusta, was graduated from Cony High School in the class of 1948. She had been employed in the traffic department of the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company in Augusta.
Mr. Elcik is a graduate of Lisbon Falls High School in the class of 1947. He has served in the U.S. Navy for the past three years and has re-enlisted for six years. He is stationed in Washington, D.C. His rating is communications technician, second class.
The newly wedded young couple went on a honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls and also visited in Washington, where they are to make their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Elcik were honor guests at the announcement party given by the bride’s parents at their Springfield home. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. J. P. McGrath, Neil and Howard McGrath; Mr. and Mrs. James Howard; Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Howard; Janet and Barbara Howard; Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Clancy; Karen Ann Clancy; Mr. and Mrs. T. Valentine; Joan and Albert Valentine; and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Howard.
