Richard Elcik, age 71, of North Massapequa, New York, and The Villages, Florida, passed away on June 12, 2012.
Richard was the beloved husband of Mary K. Elcik, with whom he shared forty-five years of marriage. He was a loving father to Stephen, Brian, and Kathryn, and a cherished grandfather to Amber, Kaitlyn, and Alexander.
He was the adored brother of Jack and Jim Elcik.
Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career with United Airlines, from which he retired.
In his personal life, Richard enjoyed golf, shuffleboard, and card games, and he was actively involved in a computer club. He was known for his easygoing nature and his enjoyment of time spent with family and friends.
Visiting hours were held at James Funeral Home on Sunday, June 17, 2012. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday morning at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, New York. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.
