Beth,
I had an “epiphany” when I was writing to Nancy. I followed up by checking out just how much we two have written in the past weeks. Add in other conversations, and collectively we have been very “prolific.” There were over 265 communications, but that list continues to grow.
[Grammarly is going to be proud of me this week. She likes it when I use new words. ?]
I might be serious about this. It is a lot of work because what I’m talking about is an “epistolary” piece of non-fiction. Go ahead and look that word up. I did. ?
[I’m getting annoyed with my keyboard. All too frequently, when I enter a smiley face emoji, it chooses to add a thumbs down emoji. If this is commentary, I don’t appreciate it.]
For one thing, I would need to extract and date/time stamp every communication to put entries in the proper time sequence. We also have to merge email, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Messenger communications. I did some testing, and I can do it with some technical tricks. It would be a lot of work for a book with limited readership potential.
Then again, it may be worth it as it is “meaningful” work. At least you (I believe) and I would think so. One of the extra steps I would have us take is to “write in the margins” our commentary on what we felt as events occurred. That part could be additional “fun.”
I’m going to, as they say, “chew” on this some more before I commit. It would be best if you thought about it too.
John, IV
P.S. I will forward you a copy of my email to Nancy.
