John, IV
I joined the MeWe group, and honestly, I don’t think you’ll get many people to do that.  I don’t understand why you’re connecting My Cousins to that or Facebook.  You haven’t had much success getting people to respond via email or otherwise, which proves a lack of interest.

Can you create a link and have people look at it that way?  I’m not telling you what to do or how to do it, but not everyone has the enthusiasm for Ancestry like we do.  I may be wrong about that; I’m just not sure at this point.

I also think we should be proud of our collaboration in figuring out as much as we have about the Elcik family.  I don’t think I could have done that without you and vice versa.

These are just my thoughts.

Beth,

MeWe was an emergency knee-jerk reaction to being suspended by Facebook. I will figure out a better way. Maybe, that will be the MyCousins blog on Facebook or a  WordPress blog on the same website as our eBook.  Mostly, I want one place to post instead of email. Email is good for you and me. Everyone else should get the same posts and have the opportunity to respond to the group as well. At least, that would be my goal.
I’m waiting until the morning to look at the photos. The dogs don’t require as much attention in the daytime.
John
P.S. I agree 110% about the value of our collaboration.😇

John,

I’m not sure.  I traced the letters with my finger and tried to scrape some of the molds off with my fingernail without much success.  As soon as I can, I’ll go back with some tools to see if that’ll help clear it up.  I do know the word Manzelka is before Maria’s name.  My friend who knows Slovak told me that’s a fancy way of saying wife in Slovak.  I think there may be something similar to that for John, just a hunch.

Earl also told me he has some info on Joseph Elcik, but he isn’t sharing it with me yet.  He’s keeping me in suspense, and it’s killing me.  He said, “anticipation is sometimes better than the real thing,” and left it at that!!!  You can believe I’ll tell you as soon as he reveals what it is.

I’m still over the top happy he found the gravestone for your great grandparents.
