Nothing lasts forever. Someday, MyCousins.org will not exist. So that content will be preserved for future generations, John has taken the following steps:
- Family tree data is posted on multiple platforms: Ancestry, MyHeritage, and FamilySearch.
- We maintain our own collection of source documents and photos.
- We backup family trees, sources, and photos and keep copies both online and offline.
The next step is to put the MyCousins domain, website assets, and collected works into a contributor-owned trust with contingency plans for its administration.
MyCousins is a free membership website. This is possible because we are a low-cost operation. Volunteers do everything.
